Hobby Lobby to defy Obamacare

hobby-lobby

Attorney’s for the company Hobby Lobby announced that the company will defy the Obamacare mandate that would force the company to provide the morning after pill as part of the new healthcare coverage. Hobby Lobby is opposing the mandate on religious grounds and currently has a lawsuit pending in court. By defying the mandate Hobby Lobby faces up to $1.3 million in fines daily.

On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor denied the companies’ request for an injunction while their lawsuit is pending, saying the stores failed to satisfy the demanding legal standard for blocking the requirement on an emergency basis. She said the companies may still challenge the regulations in the lower courts.

Only time will tell how the Hobby Lobby case and other cases against Obamacare will pan out. The question is will it cause the law to change or will the law remain the same?
