Breaking: EPA Admin Lisa Jackson to step down


One of President Obama’s chief allies in the EPA is stepping down after her first term at the head of the EPA. Lisa Jackson who is the chief administrator for the EPA announced today that she will step down after 4 years. Her tenure as chief of the EPA was marred by conflict with the Republican party. Mainly the fight over the Keystone XL pipeline that was blocked by the current administration. New controls issued on coal fired power plants were also a key part of conflict.

Lisa Jackson was the EPA’s first African-American chief in the organizations history. No word from the Obama administration on who they will appoint to replace her at this time.
