Breaking: Reid to shelve Gun Bill in the Senate
Breaking news from CNN, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) will pull pending gun legislation in the Senate this afternoon. This move comes as a surprise to many. Most expected some sort of vote this afternoon on the bill. While the move doesn’t mean the new gun legislation is completely dead (it can still be brought back up hence the no vote) it does show a significant blow to possible new gun legislation. Whether or not the bill will come back soon we currently don’y know. All we know is that is big news coming on the heels of the defeat of the Toomey-Manchin amendment to the gun bill yesterday that failed 54-46 in the Senate. This also means that the Feinstein amendment and bill to ban assault weapons and other guns is also dead for now. Certainly welcome news to many gun owners from across the United States.
